Cécile Barma, born in 1965, is a self taught French painter based in Asnières sur Seine near Paris. She began with watercolor, then turned to oil glazing in 2012, building images through thin, transparent layers that bring forward portraits, landscapes, and wandering silhouettes. Her work is driven by a search for a free, precise gesture and for painting as an experience of light and quiet, often through luminous interior scenes.
