Elodie Antoine is a Belgian artist, born in 1978 in Virton, who lives and works in Brussels. She graduated in 2002 from the sculpture department at ENSAV La Cambre. Working with soft sculpture and installation, she draws on traditional textile techniques and materials such as bobbin lace, embroidery, sewing, and felt, often combined with other substances including glass, cement, or human hair. By diverting domestic craft toward an industrial imagination, she creates hybrid, frequently anthropomorphic forms driven by notions of proliferation and the way an artwork can “colonize” space.
