Born in 1974 in Strasbourg, Myriam Mechita lives and works between Paris and Berlin. Trained at the Haute école des arts du Rhin, she develops a “polyphonic” practice spanning drawing, painting, sculpture, and installation, where the marvellous meets the intensity of violent emotions, from the tangible to the mystical. Her work brings together a wide range of materials, from ceramics and embroidery to sequins, glass beads, and mirror fragments, producing shimmering surfaces and images charged with unease. Since 2006, she has taught at the ésam Caen/Cherbourg.
