Chloë Naucelle was born in Morges in 1985. She spent the early years of her childhood in Estavayer le Lac before moving to the south of France. She currently lives and works in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
Her creative impulse stems from sensations and feelings, as well as desires and needs, which she explores through sketching, reworks through drawing, and ultimately fixes onto canvas.
She paints everyday elements with meticulous care. By focusing on seemingly insignificant details, she heightens her descriptions through rigorous attention to composition and execution.
The depicted elements then seem to take on a different texture, as if slightly liquefied. The mismatch between her tonal choices and reality reinforces this impression of false realism and a distinctive, almost sugary sweetness.
